He Shanlin was born in Yangshuo County, Guilin in 1963. He completed a postgraduate course in Guangzhou Arts College in 1995 majoring in Chinese Landscape Painting. He is a member of the Guangxi Artists Association, director of Guilin Chinese Painting Art Association, president of Yangshuo Arts Academy, and director of Guangzhou Painting and Calligraphy Institute.

He has a refined and smooth brush style that brings life to his work. His meticulous composition skill and colour application techniques also contribute to the vividness of his subjects. He has held exhibitions in Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Macao and major cities in China. In 1996, He was invited to paint a huge painting for “Opium Wars”, a movie produced by Beijing Film Studio. He has published “He Shanlin Painting Collections” and “He Shanlin Landscape Painting Collections”. His works have also been published in form of postcards by the Postal Management Office at Guangdong and Beijing in 1998 and 2004 respectively.

何善翎在1963年生於廣西陽朔，1995年畢業於廣州美術學院國畫系山水碩士研修班。現為廣西美術家協會會員、桂林市中國畫藝術會委員、廣州美術館特聘畫家、陽朔畫院院長、廣州書畫協會理事。

何善翎的作品筆法細緻，形神兼備；構圖布局精巧，主次虛實分明；色彩應用恰當傳神，用墨濃淡得宜；使作品題材生動及靈活地展現紙上。他的作品曾多次入選全國、省、市級和國外美展並獲頒獎項。他曾在馬來西亞、韓國、臺灣、澳門、及中國多個城市舉辦聯展及個展。1996年應邀為北影攝製的《鴉片戰爭》影片而繪製巨作「太行金秋圖」。他的出版作品有《何善翎畫集》及《何善翎山水畫集》。他的作品亦分別於1998年及2004年被廣東省及北京市郵政管理局以明信片形式發行。
