Dong Xian Zhou was born in 1954. He studied in the Lu Xun Art Academy in 1982, and further studied oil painting in the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1989. Dong has specialised in oil painting since 1990. With great sensitivity, he fuses the essence of traditional Chinese painting with oil painting to create a unique style. Inspired by Nature, Dong expresses his enthusiasm and cognition of life with his brushes. Combining the skill of impressionists and the acute touch of an artist, his sketches introduces the neglected beauty of nature to us and arouses our imagination.

He has been invited to various exhibitions in the country and overseas with excellent achievements. In October 2007, Dong won the Gold Prize at “The Beijing International Art Expo”. His works are among the collections of renowned individual and institutional collectors.

董仙舟於1954年在遼寧省出生，1982年就讀魯迅美術學院，師從名畫家周玉瑋教授；1989年於中央美術學院油畫研修班進修；1990年至今長期從事油畫創作。董仙舟精通國畫及油畫技法；他運用自己的藝術觸覺和創作技巧，巧妙地將國畫意境融入油畫之中，演繹了擁有獨特風情的作品系列。他的創作靈感取材自大自然，以自己對生命的激情、認知和領悟，利用畫筆去營造優美意境。他的寫生作品，利用印象派的技法及藝術家特有的敏銳觸覺，發掘一般人不在意的美感，引發我們的想像和思索。

他曾多次被邀請參加國內外大展及藝術博覽會，成績斐然；2007年10月參加「北京國際藝術博覽會」，榮獲金獎。董很多作品被國內外知名人士和機構收藏。
